So scary! Columbus Short’s wife has filed for a divorce after the ‘Scandal’ star allegedly attacked her and threatened to kill her and then commit suicide.
Columbus Short, who plays Harrison Wright on the hit ABC show Scandal, allegedly got into a violent altercation with his wife, Tuere Short, at their Los Angeles home on April 7. TMZ has obtained a new restraining order Tuere filed against Columbus and the details are truly disturbing.
Tuere claims that, during the incident, Columbus entered her room with a bottle of wine, pretended to hit her with the bottle and then poured the wine all over her, TMZ reports. She alleges that Columbus then got a knife from their kitchen, pinned her down on a couch and began to choke her. She claims he forced her to play a game called “Truth or Truth,” and allegedly threatened to stab her in the leg if she lied to him.
He allegedly began listing men he believed she was cheating on him with and when she denied having any affairs, he allegedly held the knife to her throat and threatened to kill her and then himself. When Tuere tried to escape, she claims Columbus slashed her tire.
The restraining order requires Columbus to move out of the couple’s home, and TMZ reports that the police were there to oversee the move on April 16.
Tuere filed for divorce from Columbus on April 15, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking sole custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter. Columbus recently pleaded not guilty to another charge of criminal domestic violence and child abuse after he allegedly abused Tuere while their toddler and the actor’s son were under the same roof.
Columbus has had more than his fair share of run-ins with the law lately. A Los Angeles judge issued a warrant for the actor’s arrest on March 26, after Columbus allegedly attacked a man at a Los Angeles bar on March 15.
The alleged victim ultimately declined to press charges against Columbus, despite suffering serious injuries, according to TMZ.
