BEAUTY TALK FROM THE HOUSE OF RADIANCE BEAUTY STUDIO

KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE
Hello Beautiful People,
Welcome to our beauty talks. We, at the house of radiance see the need to encourage both women and men to care for their wellbeing. Therefore, we put together beauty sessions to reach out to people far and wide and to teach them a thing or two about their skin health and wellbeing. The skin is the largest organ in the body. It is important to take good care of our skin.
Putting together an effective skincare can be very challenging especially with the different cleansers, creams, scrubs and serums crowding store shelves every day.
However, with little preparation, you can simplify the process. Begin by determining your skin type and targeting your needs. Are you concerned with moisturizing dry patches or preventing breakouts? Softening lines or making skin glow?
Ascertaining your skin type is very easy. It is the first step you should take before you put anything on your face.
Here’s a simple test to figure out whether your skin is normal, dry, oily, or a combination of dry and oily. You will need soap, water, face towel, watch and blotting paper.
WASH AND DRY your face and leave it unmoisturized for three hours. Press a single piece of tissue or blotting paper to your face and remove it. Then, make your diagnosis:
NORMAL SKIN You have normal skin if no oil comes off on the blotting paper and your face doesn’t feel tight or flaky.
DRY SKIN Your skin is dry if it feels dry, tight or flaky and no oil appears on the paper.
OILY SKIN You have oily skin if oils appears on the blotting paper from your nose, forehead and cheeks.
COMBINATION SKIN If there is oil on your nose and forehead (the areas of the face with the most oil glands) but not your cheeks, you have combination skin.
SENSITIVE SKIN Your skin is sensitive if your skin tends not to be tight and blotchy and reacts to new skin-care products by becoming red, inflamed or itchy.
And that’s the simple skin type test. Once, you know your skin type, it is now very easy to choose the right skin care to cater for your skin. I hope this is helpful. Please kindly leave any questions or comments below and we will be glad to answer you providing any help you may need concerning your beauty needs.
